Fashion Editor

Jackie White, an Atlanta native, had a degree in journalism from the University of Georgia and a passion for writing but little idea of what came next.　She was offered a job as fashion editor with the Nashville Tennessean newspaper and began what she calls a dream career. She has regularly covered New York designer collections　and for 12 years traveled to the European shows.　She recently retired as fashion editor from the Kansas City Star, where she wrote about　both trends and the emotional impact of clothes.　She believes fashion is not just about what we wear. She considers it an icon influenced by sociological and cultural waves. She is currently living in Nashville, Tn., with a Balinese cat named Stuff.
